So many things to be thankful for! Today the new youth site was blessed at dawn. It is certainly a time to celebrate what has been and what is to come.

It has been a long journey and today Kiana Shutkowski (age 16 years) opened the doors to the new youth site. A place to be in community, a place to accept diversity and a place to belong. Loving it!

A big shout out to Nelson City Councillors who voted unanimously to lease the building to Whanake Youth, the staff at NCC who have supported and advocated for the voices of young people to be heard. Thank you to Johnny and the team at Pure Eco Paint  for donating time and paint and Nelson Youth Council for funding!

We loved the dawn blessing and the sacredness of our Maori culture, thank you Sonny from Te Piki Oranga and Paora from NMDHB for leading the blessing today.
